- The sight of it straight up disturbed him as it almost looked like something was burning... -

Spider-Man 2099: - Clenches his fist tightly and leaps off. -

- Meanwhile... -

Kendrick "Hero" Urgena Mk III (Half-Vampire): - Manages to get up as the explosion left Jean, Dani, and I rather unconscious for about a few hours. -

- I then see what looks to be the X-Mansion... or what it used to be. -

Kendrick "Hero" Urgena Mk III (Half-Vampire): Aw, man... 

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): - Gets up and gazes upon the burning remains of the X-Mansion. - Oh, my God... The X-Mansion, it's...

Jean Grey: - Wakes up while seeing it as well and looks down with a sigh. - 

Kendrick "Hero" Urgena Mk III (Half-Vampire): ...Sorry about the school.

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): The Professor's still in there...?!

- As she uses her telepathy to detect where the Professor was, there appeared no sign of him whatsoever... -

Kendrick "Hero" Urgena Mk III (Half-Vampire): - Sniffs out the air. - He's not in the mansion, either...

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): - Closes her eyes as she calms down and starts to concentrate. -

- Dani suddenly hears the sound of a steady heartbeat... -

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): - Opens them and gasps a little. -

Kendrick "Hero" Urgena Mk III (Half-Vampire): What... was that?

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): Heartreader Ability. Basically, it just lets you hear someone's heartbeat from a faraway distance.

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): The Professor's... He's only about two miles away.

Jean Grey: Two miles? Why would he be-... - Realizes. - ...Unless.

Jean Grey: - Using her telepathy to detect where the other X-Men are. - Outside of the X-Mansion. By the front.

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): Let's go.

Kendrick "Hero" Urgena Mk III (Half-Vampire): - Nods and rushes out as the two of us follow each other's lead. -

Cyclops: - Checks on the students and silently counts how many were still alive. -

Wolverine: - Looks over at Cyclops. - How many...?

Cyclops: Thousands, but God only knows who else hasn't survived this attack.

- A white-haired African-American woman flies over to her fellow X-Men. -

Cyclops: Any luck?

Storm: - Nods softly. - There's still a few more who are still alive.

Cyclops: - Realizes that's there something else. - And...?

Storm: - Looks down. - ...The Professor's gone.

Nightcrawler: - Teleports over. - Vas? Vhere?!

Wolverine: - Sniffs out the Professor's scent and growls as he pops his claws out. -

Wolverine: This attack was a set-up from the start... Whoever did this-

Kendrick "Hero" Urgena Mk III (Half-Vampire): Was really after the Professor. - Rushes over with Dani and Jean. -

Shadowcat: Are you guys alright?

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): Barely. We almost went "Boom" when the principal's office got trashed.

Jean Grey: Also, they weren't just after the Professor.

Storm: Who were they after?

- As Dani and I look at each other, Spider-Man 2099 shows up. - (Saving this part for "another story".)

Spider-Man 2099: - Shows up and says "Kendrick! Dani! You're still alive!". -

Desiree Ember: - Flies over and sees Spider-Man 2099. - Spider-Man? What are you doing here, and why are you wearing a different costume?

Dani Phantom (25/Half-Vampire): He's not Peter Parker, Destiny. He's a Spider-Man from an alternate timeline.

Spider-Man 2099: Speaking of "Alternate", ever heard of Portal Earth?

Kendrick "Hero" Urgena Mk III (Half-Vampire): Had a few run-ins with some of the Spiders here and there at Portal Earth. Why?

Spider-Man 2099: It's been attacked...

Spider-Man 2099: I don't know, but whoever it is, I'm sure they might a reason for attacking it.

Wolverine: Funny... We experienced something similar, bub, and lost the Professor along the way.

Spider-Man 2099: Madame Web said whoever attacked this place might have wanted something in return.
